Time to hit the road?

Here at McCarthy’s we always keep our eyes on updates surrounding the property market. Following Brexit many suggested that we would see a huge dip in house values, a worrying prediction! However, we’ve been very pleased to see the papers reporting that post-Brexit, the US Election and the Christmas season, house prices are on the rise!

Of course, even with this new information many potential movers still feel nervous about upping sticks from their current homes. However, with experts saying this is a great time to sell, those who choose to be brave stand a great chance of making hearty profits.

The Yorkshire Post reported that information from Hometrack indicated an annual growth of 4.9% within the housing market in Leeds. Our neighbours in Sheffield also enjoyed growth of 4.3%. House prices in Leeds remain strong with the average home being worth an estimated £153,400, whilst Mancunians could expect to see their properties valuing at around £151,200.

As experts in the moving game, we know that the process often takes longer than you might expect. Whilst rainy February may not feel like a great time to move, once your sale goes through it’s likely to be summer months, a great time to relocate.

So, where do McCarthy’s come in? With 40 years of experience in the removal industry we know a thing or two about getting you and your belongings happily transported from A to B.
