It’s that time of year again. The one you’ve all been waiting for. I know you’ve probably not been able to sleep, you’ve been so excited about it.
Your wait is over. The shortlist has been revealed!
We are, of course, talking about The Shed of the Year 2018!
There were 3,000 entries this year across eight categories, including eco-shed, budget and historic – who knew there were so many sub categories of the (not so) common-or-garden shed? You can still vote on the 24 shortlisted finalists at the website www.readersheds.co.uk – there’s everything from an old London black cab and full on pubs to a hobbit hole and a space shed (who doesn’t need one of those?!)
But what the Shed of the Year competition does show to us – especially as it’s in its 11th year – is that people still crave that extra space outside of the home for a multitude of reasons.
For some, they need the extra space for storage, for others they want more space for work, or for living – whether it’s entertaining, a hobby or just somewhere to have some peace and quiet. Often both requirements work hand in hand – some of those leisure requirements could maybe be fulfilled in the house if there was more storage space.
Which is where self storage comes in. We’re not the place to be if you fancy setting up your own little bar or pub for you and your mates, but we could be just the thing if you need extra space for storage, for a business or for a hobby.
With storage centres in Leeds, Wakefield and Harrogate, our position in all three locations has been carefully chosen to make them easy to access and convenient. There’s ample parking, so when you need to bring items to unload, or pick them back up again, there’s plenty of space for a car or van.
You can choose a room to suit your exact requirements – whether that’s the size of a phone box or a tennis court. And if your needs change, and you want more or less space, we can change your storage unit without any unnecessary hassle or stress. Everything is kept safe and secure, and only you have the key to your unit – we can’t even get in there without you. CCTV keeps an eye on things when you aren’t about, and state of the art security means individual pin codes are needed to access the building.
Power and wifi can be organised, if you need them for work or a hobby, so you can really make the most of your space in a way that suits you best.
There’s no hidden charges and long contracts – you just need to give us two weeks’ notice if you want to leave. Prices start from just £6 a week – imagine gaining a whole extra room from just £6! So, the only question is – what will you use yours for? Maybe you could empty that old shed at the bottom of the garden into a storage unit and turn the shed into ‘The Stumble Inn’ – we say cheers to that!
