Property prices go up and down (mainly up…) – in fact Yorkshire property prices saw a Spring boom, according to recent figures from the Land Registry. As a region we saw the largest monthly house price rise in April, increasing by 3.9 per cent (more than double the national average). That means the average house price in Yorkshire is now £155,357 – again a bit different to the 1970s where the average home cost less than £5,000.
But some things never change. People still want a reliable firm to take care of all their worldly goods – if you had your doubts, it could be a scary prospect seeing a van drive off with everything you own in it! One person’s minimalist two bedroom semi can be very different to someone else’s packed to the rafter style!
Remember we have our box shop on Meanwood Road in Leeds, in Harrogate and in Wakefield (as well as online) where you can get everything you need to help you pack up (if you don’t want to take advantage of our packing service). We sell boxes of all shapes and sizes, tape, bubble wrap, and all kinds of tricks of the trade to ensure your things are kept safely preserved on their trip from A to B (or Farsley to Fife).
We also have our McCarthy’s World Self Storage Centre, where you can store things independently for as long or short a time as needed, or we can arrange to store your boxes and furniture for a longer period of time. With the self storage, you can gain access whenever you like, as your things are kept in a locked room for which only you have the key. Or we can pack your items in to crates within our removal van, which we then take to a secure room to be kept sealed until you request them to be taken to your new property. It’s a great idea if your chain isn’t quite tying in on dates, or if you want to move in gradually so you can do some DIY.
