It’s that time of year again when university exams are all done, and students across the country can breath a big sigh of relief!

Now on to planning the fun stuff – summer vacation!

That means June is also a busy time of year for our self storage centres, as students make the wise choice to store their belongings, rather than trek them halfway across the country (or, indeed, world).

Some students might be planning a summer of travelling and adventure – or they may even be taking a gap year or year in industry. If that’s the case they’re likely to be moving out of accommodation at least temporarily. Rather than taking all their stuff home before they travel, self storage makes a lot more sense – keeping it in the place they’re studying makes for a much easier move back on their return!

Other students may be going home to find employment for the summer, before returning for further studying in the autumn. Student accommodation doesn’t always tie up in terms of dates – meaning you may get kicked out of halls before your rented house is available. Alternatively, you may not feel it’s secure leaving your belongings in an empty house, while everyone is away for the summer. Self storage can be an ideal, safe option.

Many universities have a large proportion of international students, who may travel home in the summer holidays. Taking everything they own via plane would likely prove impossible, so self storage can be a life saver in those situations!

Once on site, there’s ample parking and equipment such as lifts and trolleys to help you get everything you need to your unit as simply as possible. If you’ve got quite a bit to move, we can even help provide a man and van service to give you some extra lifting power!

Everything is kept safe and secure on site, monitored by CCTV and security. Entry to the storage centre is through a pin code and only you have the key or code to your individual unit – we can’t even get in without you! So, you can feel reassured that everything is being looked after. You can gain access when you need, not just in business hours, so there’s no reason to worry you won’t be able to get things back if you need them.
