Pledge to give up clutter this Lent

Mar 3, 2017 | Professional Shredding, Storage Info

With Shrove Tuesday now done and dusted, we are officially in the time period referred to as Lent. Lent begins every year on Ash Wednesday and ends approximately six weeks later on Easter Sunday.

During Lent lots of people commit to giving up certain luxuries for forty days and forty nights. Many Christians fast and devote themselves to prayer with others choosing to abstain from meat until Easter. Other popular sacrifices are chocolate, television, crisps and the internet. Whilst we can’t guarantee that we will resist treats for forty days, we have been considering how McCarthy’s might be able to help out this Lent.

Why not pledge to take some time this weekend to collect together the items cluttering your home. After you’re done, promise yourself that if you don’t use them for the rest of Lent you will make moves to clear them away and create space in your house. Items that you know definitely won’t be used anymore could be packed up and taken to your local charity shop or passed on to a loved one. Whilst the things you can’t bear to say goodbye to, or know will come in handy in a few months, can be put into one of our handy self-storage units.

McCarthy’s Self Storage units offer the perfect solution for those in need of some extra room that’s safe, clean and easy to access. Spaces range from areas as small as a broom closet right up to units as large as a tennis court and are available to lease from as little as £6 per week. Units are accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days per year so whether it be first thing in the morning or last thing at night you can rest assured that you can get hold of your items as you need them.

Customers can also sign same day leases meaning that if you decide to have a spontaneous clear out, your things can be safely stored that same day. As well as flexible opening times, contracts are also easily changeable and can be updated according to your personal needs.

Another way of creating some space, and at the same time keeping your personal details safe, is to keep on top of your paperwork. If you have mountains of bills, letters and statements littering your home, why not have a good sort through and sort out a bag for shredding? There’s no need to spend a further weekend bored, feeding it one page at a time through your own shredder though! We can post you a home shredding bag to fill and for just £10 plus VAT we could dispose of it safely, ensuring no one can ever get hold of any of your details via a hastily discarded receipt or letter.

So, whilst giving up chocolate for Lent may not be easy, getting organised and clearing space in your home can be. We have a team of dedicated specialists on hand to assist with any questions you may have, just give us a call on 0113 26 26 500 or check out our website.
