With Shrove Tuesday now done and dusted, we are officially in the time period referred to as Lent. Lent begins every year on Ash Wednesday and ends approximately six weeks later on Easter Sunday.
During Lent lots of people commit to giving up certain luxuries for forty days and forty nights.
