As we work with self storage every day, we can sometimes forget that the concept can seem a bit alien to someone who has never needed to use it before.

But if you think you might need some storage space, what should you know?
We offer space to both businesses and individuals. Businesses choose to use us for a variety of reasons – it may be they have seasonal stock they need to store, or they may work from home and be sick of their spare room being taken over by boxes! Internet businesses often don’t need retail or office space, but they do need somewhere to run their business from. Others may not be ready for their own premises, but may want some space for stock, and a computer to keep track of inventory. Our reception can receive parcel deliveries on behalf of storage customers, so that can be handy for business owners who are out and about a lot.
For individuals wanting to use self storage there can be a myriad of reasons. Perhaps they’re selling their home and need to declutter, or they need to store their belongings in between a house sale and a purchase. Maybe they have no storage space at home so decide rather than buying a bigger house, some self storage space would do the job for items they don’t need to access all the time. Perhaps they have recently done a house clearance and need somewhere to store things. Maybe they’ve downsized or family circumstances have changed. Students use us to store things over the holidays. Or sometimes the storage space can be linked to hobbies, which require more space than their home can offer!
So if you decide you need some storage space, how does it work?
We’d usually recommend you come along and take a look at the variety of sizes of units we can offer but to get you started you can use our storage size estimator. The smallest starts at just nine square feet, and the biggest – well we have never yet failed to meet a request!
Once you have decided on the space you need, we can provide you with a quote. But don’t worry if once we move in your items, you realise you actually needed more or less space – we can usually work with you to find the perfect unit. Prices start at just £8 per week, so much more reasonable than hiring office or retail space, or moving house just to move your ever-increasing number of belongings with you!
You can hire our self storage units for just one month – or indefinitely – and you need to provide just 14 days notice to move out.
How secure are your belongings when in the unit? You will put your own padlock on the door – and only you decide who gets the key. So we can’t enter your storage unit, and neither can anyone else. The whole site is covered by unique pin code entry and CCTV.
And if you need to get access to your belongings, you can do that as often as you like, and in most cases, 24-hour access is available.
