How active the house-buying market is (or isn’t) is something which is checked and reported on day-by-day – or so it can seem.
But for us, we’ve had our best indication that the Yorkshire property market is continuing to flourish. We’ve just had our busiest peak home-moving season in eight years!
Not only have we moved the contents of over 1,300 homes over the last four months (the highest number since 2007), but the peak season has also been longer.
Although people obviously move home all year round, it is always at its highest in the summer months, from June to August. We usually see things start to quieten down in September. But this year that peak season has extended well into October.
It’s also been a busy time in our storage facilities, as the two things often tie up – storage can come in very handy when dates don’t quite line up, people are decluttering, or households are downsizing.
So a great summer all round – and maybe a sign it’s a good time to put your home-moving plans into practice!
