Bus – The No.36 bus that runs from Harrogate town centre to Leeds city centre runs straight through Harewood and provides a regular link to both areas. There is another service that links Harewood to Wetherby and Otley.
Rail – There are no railway stations near to Harewood which means Leeds and Harrogate railway stations provide a convenient link with the connecting buses. The closest station geographically is Weeton just less than four miles away.
Air – Harewood is well situated north of Leeds for access to Leeds Bradford Airport which is to the north west of the city.
Leisure & Attractions if Moving to Harewood
In terms of attractions, Harewood is most well-known for the country house and gardens for which it gives its name – Harewood House. The house itself was built in the 18th century and is ranked with Chatsworth House and Blenheim Palace as treasure houses of England. In 2009 it won a Large Visitor Attraction of the Year award. On the grounds are a lake, bird garden and castle and in the house is a large collection of paintings.
Two well-known hikes pass through the grounds – the Leeds Country Way and the White Rose Way. A popular attraction in the area is also the Harewood Hillclimb which attracts many racing fans to the area.
