Reading the property pages of the Yorkshire Post newspaper at the weekend, we spotted an article about an exciting new piece of tech which could change the way we view houses up for sale.
The Matterport, from America, is a very clever camera with interactive 3D and virtual reality tours and floorplans, like a 3D doll’s house with no walls or roof. Definitely a step forward from the wobbly, grainy videos currently available. The tours, alongside high resolution stills, help give a better idea of the house for potential viewers – more tangible ideas of room size and layout and flow. Everything is in crystal clear HD and its immersive properties mean it’s the closest you can get to actually being in a house. So, it’s a bonus in terms of selling your home, but also ensuring property searchers don’t waste their time – or the homeowners’ time – with viewings which will never go any further.
It made us think about the exciting new video surveys we introduced a few months ago. In today’s busy world, no one has a minute to spare, and so anything which cuts down the time needed is a winner.
