The start of a new chapter…
Exam time is here again, and with it comes, for many, the end of one chapter and the start of another.

Some may be wondering if September will see them head to a new town or city to study. Others might be finishing education and getting ready to take the first step on a new path.
For parents it can see a grown up child move back home while jobs are sought, decisions are made or deposits are saved. The so called ‘Boomerang’ generation now sees one in four 22-30 year olds living with their parents. Not only can that put a strain on relationships (!) it can also put a strain on the house, as spare rooms and studies are given over to kids once more.
Assuming it’s a temporary situation, your extended wardrobe/antique book collection/display of guitars may need to find another home for a little while.
For others it can see them clearing out their teen’s bedroom (never an easy task) and transferring their most important worldly possessions to a Hall of Residence or student house. Which of course leaves you with mountains of school books, soft toys and other bits and pieces they don’t want to take, to find a home for!
These are just two of the reasons the next few months can be a busy time on the storage side of things here at McCarthy’s. So if you need to find another home for some prized possessions whilst the children move back in, or if you’re ready to reclaim a spare room and clear out dog-eared copies of ‘GCSE French’, the Twilight saga and enough old Lego to sink a ship, storage can be a great medium-term solution.
And with the latter, if after a couple of visits home they haven’t even realised it’s gone, you may be able to make more permanent arrangements!
