We are delighted to announce the new appointments in our self storage division of Gurbachan Suwali in Leeds and Jacqui Hunt in Harrogate. Our self storage business continues to grow and we wish Gurbs and Jacqui a long and successful career with McCarthys Storage World.

Financial Accountant joins McCarthy’s

Selena Henry has joined McCarthys in a part time role as the group financial accountant based at the head office in Leeds. Selena has a wealth of experience after working for various businesses most recently for Republic clothing. Mike McCarthy said “Selena will be a welcome addition to our team as we continue to expand and grow the business, we wish her every success in her career at McCarthy’s”.

Macmillan Cancer Care

McCarthy’s support Macmillan Cancer care in ‘The World’s largest Coffee Morning’

On Friday 24th September McCarthy’s held a coffee morning in the Business Centre in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care. Staff, tenants and customers joined in by both baking and buying, cakes and biscuits to enjoy with their morning coffee. Everything was donated even the coffee!

A total of £313.85 was raised for this very worthy cause.

McCarthy’s expands in to Harrogate.

McCarthy’s are delighted to announce the opening of a new self storage facility in Harrogate The new facility will provide self storage for personal and business use 7 days a week and also offer retail sales of packaging including boxes, tape & Bubble Wrap

McCarthys have been providing Home Moving , office moving and storage services in Yorkshire for over 40 years. The company have also expanded recently to offer self storage, archive storage and serviced offices.

Commenting on the expansion plans, Mike McCarthy, Managing Director, said: “I am absolutely delighted we have been able to secure freehold premises in Harrogate and continue our long association with Yorkshire people and their businesses. The new storage facility on Ripon Road in Harrogate half a mile from the city centre will open up new opportunities and provide us with increased storage space for peoples belongings at home and businesses stock and archives with 24-7 access”

McCarthys bucks recession and expands serviced offices:

McCarthy’s now employs over 30 people, are still recruiting and have seen an increase in the number of customers requiring storage, workshop and office space.. Mike McCarthy, Managing Director said “although the recession affects everyone our key to success has been flexibility, diversification, good value for money and excellent staff with a can do, positive attitude. Our serviced offices on Meanwood Road are fully let as various companys downsized in the recession have taken advantage of an all inclusive easy in easy out agreement. We are building an additional 20 offices and small businesses operating from our site often take a large storage room for their stock or archives as well as they expand their business knowing they have fixed costs with no business rates and utility bills to pay. Its great to see our tenants doing so well in the recession”

Promotions at McCarthy’s

McCarthys are delighted to announce the recent promotion of Roy Howarth to the post of general manager. Roy has worked at McCarthy’s for 4 years and Mike McCarthy commented “Roy fully deserves this promotion. He has enjoyed his role in sales where he has been very successful and fully deserves this promotion to the post of general manager.
